Nancy's National Mediation Practice

Nancy has created a national personal injury mediation practice. Within this, she has 3 subspecialty areas of expertise:

  • medical malpractice
  • elder abuse
  • correctional health care (section 1983)

Medical Malpractice

Nancy has been engaged as a trial lawyer on both sides of these cases. She has defended physicians, hospitals, nurses and allied health professionals for 30 years. She has represented plaintiffs against health care professionals for 8 years. She has tried more than 20 medical malpractice cases, involving general surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, psychiatry, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, family practice, anesthesiology, cardiology, ophthalmology and infectious disease. The issues have included informed consent, EMTALA, fraud, and deliberate indifference to serious medical needs.

Elder Abuse

Nancy has specialized in skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility and home health care cases for 20 years, originally representing defendants, but in the past 8 years on both sides of these cases. She has tried 4 skilled nursing facility cases.

Correctional Health Care (section 1983)

Nancy has also focused on correctional health care cases, including deliberate indifference to serious medical needs, for 20 years. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the American Correctional Health Services Association, and received its Distinguished Service Award in 2005. She has tried 3 correctional health care cases.
